Ryan Paul

Founder, President, and Play-By-Play Announcer


Ryan founded the Chaska Basketball Report in 2015 and proceeded to create the Chaska Hawks Broadcast Network. Ryan was the lead Play-by-Play commentator for Hawks Basketball and Hockey and was behind all production of the early CHBN broadcasts. A Chaska High School graduate, Ryan currently works full time at Hazeltine National Golf Club in the Turfgrass Management Department and is an active basketball official.

Brett Johnson

PSB Media/CHBN Production Director

Brett's role at CHBN began in 2020 when Hawks Football games went on the air. With a wealth of experience in video and audio production, Brett is now the lead director and producer for many CHBN events. You will often see Brett at your favorite Hawks games behind the controls of the production equipment.

Mike Schmid

Football Lead Analyst
When COVID-19 forced a limitation on fans at high school football games, CHBN was tasked with airing the games. Mike joined Ryan for each of the Hawks' home games and now is the lead analyst for Football on CHBN. Mike is a 2006 graduate of Chaska High School. A star athlete at CHS, Mike was the starting QB for Chaska Football.

Blake Herring

Girls' Basketball
Blake is a Hawks Girls Basketball Superfan. An active member in the community even after his own children graduated, Blake continues to play a role in the local youth basketball association. His love for Chaska Girls Basketball runs deep and his passion is adored by many viewers far and wide!

Patrick Lilja

Freelance Broadcaster
Play-By-Play
Patrick is a freelance broadcaster who works for several different outlets in the Twin Cities. He joined CHBN after a partnership with PSB Media was reached. You can hear Patrick on CHBN broadcasts of many sports, as well as MNHockeyTV, PrepSpotlight, and other networks.

Taylor Hansen

Lead Hockey Commentator

Taylor joined CHBN in the 2016-17 season as a hockey commentator. During his time with CHBN, he continued to commentate hockey, while contributing to CHBN Images and CHBN Productions. Taylor graduated from Chaska in 2019 and now attends Grand Canyon University in AZ where he is studying sports media.

Colin Jacobsen

Commentator

Colin started with CHBN in 2017 as a hockey analyst. Since then, he has continued to call games for his former high school hockey team. Colin now works for the University of Minnesota's Men's Hockey program as a  student equipment manager. He also calls games for MNhockeyTV. Colin graduated from Chaska High School in 2018.

Greg Erickson

Greg has been around Chaska hockey for nearly a decade as the arena PA announcer. In 2017, he joined the CHBN team as an analyst for select hockey games 
Greg can also be heard as the PA announcer for Chaska Football. 
Greg is a graduate of Burnsville High School and lives in Chaska with his family.

Eric Kraushar

Former Local Sports Editor

Eric is the former sports editor at the Chaska Herald and other SW Metro Newspapers. Eric covered 5 schools in the area, and joins the broadcast crew for color commentary and analysis when he can.
Eric, a proud graduate of St. Paul Highland Park High School and Hamline University, lives in the southeast metro with his family.

Student & Classmate Production Staff

When Ryan Paul began CHBN, he employed classmates to operate cameras, produce broadcasts, and much more. 
Since graduation in 2019, CHBN has outsourced many of these roles in order to continue providing coverage of Chaska Hawks sports.

Max Hanninen

Producer, Basketball
Max has served as the lead producer for Chaska boys' basketball and has also participated in many CHBN Productions projects. A 2019 graduate of Chaska HS, Max now studies at the University of St. Thomas 

Danny Johnson

Lead Camera, Basketball
Danny joined CHBN in 2017 and is behind the camera for basketball games, primarily the road games.  
A 2018 graduate of Chaska HS, Danny currently attends the University of St. Thomas 

Landon Vergin

Producer, Basketball
Landon joined CHBN in 2018 and spent his time as a CHBN basketball live game producer. 
Landon graduated from Chaska in 2020 and currently attends the University of St. Thomas.

Nolan Hansen

Producer, Basketball
Nolan began with CHBN in 2017 and was behind the computer doing production at basketball events. Nolan graduated from Chaska in 2019 and now attends the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

Alec Hatelstead

Camera Operator, Basketball
Alec joined CHBN in 2018 and was the camera operator for most basketball games. Alec graduated from Chaska in 2019 and now attends the University of Wisconsin Stout.

Andrew Neuman

Andrew began with CHBN in 2018 and handles both production and camera duties for basketball and hockey.
 Andrew graduated from Chaska in 2019 and now attends Gustavus Adolphus College.

Dylan Brazil

Camera Operator, Hockey
Dylan started with CHBN in winter 2018 and is a camera operator for Chaska Hawks hockey games. Dylan graduated from Chaska in 2019 and now attends Iowa State University.

Jack Archer

Producer, Basketball
Jack came on at CHBN in 2017 and began as a producer for basketball games. Jack also handles stats for select broadcasts. Jack graduated from Chaska in 2018 and studies at the University of Minnesota.

Justin Bach

Camera Operator, Basketball
Justin was a camera operator for CHBN basketball. He was also a three-sport varsity captain for Hockey, Baseball, and Football. Justin graduated from Chaska in 2019 and now attends the University of Wisconsin Madison.

Bryce Hansen

Camera Operator, Hockey
Bryce is on the JV hockey team at Chaska. He joined CHBN in 2018 as a camera operator for the varsity hockey games. Bryce will graduate from Chaska High School in 2021.
